“Babysitting”
by Christine W. Murphy
This is a comical doozie; you’ll find yourself smiling throughout this one. For crimes committed on his home world, John is exiled to a strange bug planet where he must rear a brood of avral bug children as penance. Of course, in the myriad and often confusing world of bugs, females are given certain tasks while the males are shackled with chores that aren’t as glamorous. Suffice to say he’s not exactly happy with the situation, and will do a lot more than hard time for his transgressions against his own species. A hilarious statement on the often diverse roles of males and females in the home.
